MARK RYAN WALBERG grew up in the high deserts of Acton, California, where there wasn't much to do except drugs and dirt bikes. That is, until he discovered the magic of a super 8 camera and started making movies with his friends. This was his inciting incident.

He studied film at UC Berkeley where he wrote and directed numerous shorts, before landing a job in development at a production company. He worked his way up to a coordinator level in both television and film, but his passion always remained in crafting his own stories. He made the jump into TV, assisting on Alan Ball’s Here & Now for HBO, before landing on Julie Plec’s Legacies as a writer. There, he wrote multiple episodes and had the opportunity to produce each of them on set.

Mark has written both features and pilots all in a singular voice that is rich in tone, place, and character. His drama The Queens of The Apocalypse placed in the semifinals at Austin Film Festival. He currently worte, directed and produced the short film Slippers which is about to launch its festival run.

He is in no way related to the other Mark Wahlberg.
